Artist Statement
Growing up immersed in a world of flowers I spent my mornings unwrapping, cleaning, and
arranging blooms at my family’s flower shop. I cherished the moments of sweeping wet brick
floors and uncovering the remnants of our work: cut stems, wet foam bricks, exhausted
newspapers, and scattered petals. These discarded artifacts from our flower shop floor became
the spark for my artistic exploration. Flowers and their symbolism -such as, Birth, Love, and
Death -frequently appear in my work. I create across a diverse range of media, including
sculpture, painting, photography, ceramics, installations, drawing, and video.
